Rapper and radio personality, Pope Skinny has observed that organisers of the annual Ghana Music Awards do not take musicians serious because of how the musicians behave when they lose out at the event.
In a Facebook post, Pope Skinny advised his colleagues who complain whenever they do not win a category they were nominated in to desist from that, adding that it depicts how fake they are.
His comment came on the back of misgivings registered by some artistes for not winning at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
“You see how fake Ghana musicians are? When they are nominated for VGMAs, they don’t complain but when the award doesn’t go in their favour, they come complaining that VGMA this, VGMA that. Be real my people because you are the reason why these people don’t take us serious. VGMA hasn’t done anything so stop complaining and painting them black. If you had won, wouldn’t you have praised them?” he noted.
This year’s edition of the VGMAs which was held at the Accra International Conference Centre was under the theme: Let the music play live.
