The beauty queen was slammed by a section of Ghanaians for her outfit at the VGMAs on the basis that it was too revealing.

Chief Executive Officer of Slip Music, Mark Okraku-Mantey has indicated that if he were managing former Miss Malaika winner, Hamamat, she would not have rendered an apology for her outfit at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).

The beauty queen was slammed by a section of Ghanaians for her outfit at the VGMAs on the basis that it was too revealing.

Hamamat later apologised and blamed it on ‘wardrobe malfunction’.

“I will like to apologize for yesterday’s wardrobe malfunction, I agree the dress was sexy but my intentions was very far from how it was portrayed. To @iamkaakaa and mz4lawsn your brand means a lot me and I am sorry for what it looked like. # To err is human, to forgive divine definition. Thank you all so much for all your kind words,” she posted on Instagram.

But Okraku-Mantey speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, said he saw nothing wrong with what Hamamat wore on the night. He intimated that Hamamat would not have apologised if he were her manager.

“I don’t why [people] are too hard on Hamamat…. Every profession and its outfit. There is a degree of madness in fashion. If you don’t understand someone’s career, you will judge them wrongly. I don’t have a problem with Hamamat, maybe because of where I’m coming from… Let’s not be too hard on her… If I were managing Hamamat, we wouldn’t have apologised,” he told host, KMJ.

A day after Hamamat had apologised, actress, Lydia Forson penned down a lengthy article in which she slammed people for attacking Hamamat.

“If she wants to apologize to anyone, let it be because she strongly believes she did something wrong at that event and not because she’s being coerced to by trolls… half the nig**z complaining are probably jerking of over this picture and the women are probably angry they weren’t daring enough to pull it off.

“But my dear Hamamat next time stand by what you wore (cuz I know you were feeling yourself that night and were well aware of the side boob when you picked out the dress) or own that you didn’t get it right. Either way, it’s part of the Showbiz culture, no big deal. But NEVER apologize to people who don’t feed you like you’re some little girl with no brains. It defeats the purpose of the fight against oppression of women, and gives power to underserving trolls who will continue to shame women by imploring these methods,” portions of her post read.
