Vybrant Faya: Artiste manager defends ‘Budumbudum’ music video

GhOne, Spyderlee Entertainment TV, Care TV and Metro TV rejected the video on the basis that it had nude scenes which is against the policies within which they operate.

Mel Kwasi Davis, owner of Event Republic has indicated that it was wrong for television stations to have rejected Vybrant Faya’s Budumbudum music video.

GhOne, Spyderlee Entertainment TV, Care TV and Metro TV rejected the video on the basis that it had nude scenes which is against the policies within which they operate.

Although Mr Logic, manager of Vybrant Faya, has argued that the video was shot in connection with the concept of the song which talks about the breast of a lady, operators of the stations have asserted that it was too explicit.

“Every TV station has a format they adhere to. It has to do with the kind of content that suits its core target. Care TV has always preached about nudity as something we frown upon… I think the execution [was wrong]… What we show on screen has a social responsibility to ensure that the right thing is done out there,” Ricky Anokye, formerly of Care TV said on Pluzz FM’s Am Pluzz.

But Mel Kwasi Davis who doubles as the manager of highlife artiste, KK Fosu has said the TV stations should have advised at what time the video could be shown instead of rejecting it.

“The station should have checked what time they could show the video. To say the video was wrong, I disagree. I think they should have told Mr Logic that because of programming, they cannot play in the morning but after 10pm. To say you are rejecting the video is not fair,” he opined.
